I am a provider for most of the major insurance companies and many of the Employee Assistance Program companies. Below you’ll find a list of organizations with whom I regularly do business. This list is not comprehensive, so if you don’t see your insurance company listed, give them a call to find out if I’m on your provider list. It is ultimately your responsibility to make sure that I am a provider on your particular plan and to determine your benefit level. Mental Health insurance, a part of your regular healthcare insurance, is very complicated. Most of the time when insurance companies don’t pay, it’s because consumers haven’t done their homework about how to access their benefits. (Making it difficult saves the insurance industry lots of money, I’m sure.) To that end, I have provided a list of questions for you to use when calling your insurance company. Click Here to get the list. Print out the list before you call and ask each question on the list. Please be sure to get the person’s name that you talk to on the phone, and document the date and time of your call. If you wish to call to set up an appointment, please have your insurance information ready. I will take your information down and have my medical billing service confirm your benefits for you, including both your co-pay and co-insurance costs. Although it is your responsibility to get this information, having a second person check with the insurance company on your behalf insures that you have the correct information. There have been many times customer service representatives have accidentally given out incorrect information about a person’s benefits. Having two people call for the same benefits reduces this risk. It’s worth it to you, because even if the company gives you erroneous information over the phone, you are stuck with the bill. The cost for each therapy or counseling session is 85$. If you do not have insurance coverage and cannot afford the full fee, I will negotiate a fee adjustment with you. In order to keep the adjusted fee, you must pay for each session at the time of service. All co-pays and co-insurance payments are due at the time of service. I accept both Mastercard and Visa for your convenience. Employee Assistance Programs are a wonderful way for you to get services at no cost to yourself. Different than your insurance plan, your EAP is provided by your employer through companies such as Magellan Behavioral Health, APS Healthcare, or Wellspring. These programs pay for a set number of sessions for short-term work, for assessment, and sometimes for referral. If you don’t know whether you have an EAP, contact the Human Resources office at your place of work and ask! |
